5 yrs ago – Jan 2017, me & @emmanuelanyiamosigwembe walked across Sidney Poitier Bridge in the Bahamas 🇧🇸 & felt a real presence of legacy : the most important black actor in history. To hear of his passing today, reminds me of just how many giants I have the privilege of standing on the shoulders of🙏🏾. Rest in power giant 👑 Poitier. The 1st black actor to win an Oscar, the first black director to gross $100m at the box office. An advocate for equality and diversity globally. We salute you today and everyday 🖤✨
